The GSMA annual report outlines the value of the mobile market in sub-Saharan Africa. The continent’s growth is slowing down but has not stopped, confirming its enormous potential for development. According to the data collected by the association, the mobile sector makes up 5.7% of African GDP, employs almost four and a half million people and represents an income of about 15 billion in direct and indirect taxation for the individual countries. Furthermore, the companies that operate in the sector have invested over 10 billion in infrastructure in the last 12 months.
